Star Travel? YES! An Illustrated Lecture

Speaker Information

One of the loudest objections to flying saucer reality is that they can’t get here from other star systems. However, any study of technological progress shows that progress comes from doing differently in an unpredictable way. The future is NOT an extrapolation of the past. Careful investigation shows that trips to nearby stars in reasonable times are feasible with round trip times shorter than a man’s lifetime using nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.

Almost all the energy in the universe comes from nuclear fusion in the stars. A study for the USAF in 1962 showed that fusion would do the job, if we wanted to spend the money. In 1970 Los Alamos ground tested the Phoebus Fission propulsion system at a power level of 4000 megawatts, a hydrogen exhaust temperature over 4000 F and less than 8’ in diameter. At 1G acceleration it only takes a year to get to the speed of light. Einstein showed that time slows down for things moving at close to the speed of light. It won’t be cheap. It is exciting.

Nuclear Physicist-Author-Lecturer Stanton T. Friedman received his BSc. and MSc. Degrees in physics from the University of Chicago in 1955 and 1956. He was employed for 14 years as a nuclear physicist by such companies as GE, GM, Westinghouse Astronuclear Laboratory, TRW Systems, Aerojet General Nucleonics, and McDonnell-Douglas Astronautics working in such highly advanced, classified, eventually cancelled programs as nuclear aircraft, fission and fusion rockets, and various compact nuclear power-plants for space and terrestrial applications. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society, The American Physical Society, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

He became interested in UFOs in 1958, and since 1967 has lectured about them at more than 600 colleges and 100 professional groups in all 50 U.S. states, all 10 Canadian provinces and 19 other countries in addition to various nuclear consulting efforts. He has only had 11 hecklers of which 2 were drunk. He has published more than 100 UFO papers and has appeared on hundreds of radio and TV programs including on Larry King in 1997, 2007 and twice in 2008, and many documentaries. He is the original civilian investigator of the Roswell Incident and co-authored “Crash at Corona: The Definitive Study of the Roswell Incident”. TOP SECRET/MAJIC his controversial book about the Majestic 12 group, established in 1947 to deal with alien technology, was published in 1996 and went through 6 printings. An expanded new edition was published in 2005. Stan was presented with a Lifetime UFO Achievement Award in Leeds, England, in 2002, by UFO Magazine of the UK. He is co-author with Kathleen Marden (Betty Hill’s niece) of a book in 2007: “Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience”. The City of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, declared August 27, 2007, Stanton Friedman Day. His book “Flying Saucers and Science” was published in June, 2008, and is in its 4th printing. His newest book “Science Was Wrong: Startling Truths about Cures, Theories, and Inventions ‘They’ Declared Impossible” with Kathleen Marden, was published in June, 2010. On July 2, 2010, he was inducted into the Roswell, New Mexico, UFO Hall of Fame for his long term investigative efforts on that important case. He and Marden completed a new book in September 2016 “Fact, Fiction, and Flying Saucers”.

Both TOP SECRET/MAJIC and “Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience” have been optioned for movies by Stellar Productions of Hollywood.

He has provided written testimony to Congressional Hearings, appeared twice at the UN, and been a pioneer in many aspects of ufology including Roswell, Majestic 12, The Betty Hill-Marjorie Fish star map work, analysis of the Delphos, Kansas, physical trace case, crashed saucers, flying saucer technology, and challenges to the S.E.T.I. (Silly Effort To Investigate) cultists. He has spoken at more MUFON Symposia than anyone else.
